Home, sweet home -- summer vegetable

After the seemingly endless cold and rainy spring weather(which is very unusual for the Bay Area), our vegetable garden finally starts to produce delicious vegetables. We planted many types of squashes, but only the Ronde de Nice survived from the unusually cold spring. We re-planted several yellow squash and zucchini plants two weeks ago. Hopefully, they will do better this time.
I randomly seeded some leftover green bean seeds from last year in the garden bed. They are doing much better this year. We didn’t get a single green bean at all last year.
The loose leaf lettuce is doing so well that we are able to have them for dinner at least 3 times a week. It just keeps coming back after cutting!
All about Taiwan-- beading

Beading is the “hottest” craft trend in Taiwan right now. There are so many beading supply stores open everywhere. My aunts and their neighbors are also very crazy about beading, and have been beading day-and-night whenever they have spare time. They gave me many of their beaded works during my last trip back home. When I said many, I meant over 30 pieces. I had to bring an additional suitcase to bring them back to the US with me. So, now, we have beaded animals displayed all over our house, just like my cousins’ houses, my parents’ house and my grandmother’s house. Everyone is “benefited” from my aunts’ beading hobby ![]()
